Mist laden days remind me of the luminous qualities of Modernist Melbourne artist Clarice Beckett’s (1887-1935) landscape painting. Ceramicist, gallerist and Beckett enthusiast, Kirsten Perry has curated an invitational exhibition Dear Clarice in her ever-inspiring shop-front gallery O.K Violet in inner suburban Brunswick.
I am delighted to join an equally passionate artists to pay homage to Clarice’s painterly capturing of quiet, fleeting moments where the absence of people calls attention to a dreamy atmospheric experience of commonplaces.
Exhibition also features: Clair Dougherty, Evita Siketa, Janette Kerr-Grant, Julia Gorman, Karlee Sangster, Kirsten Perry, Mike Schaefer, Samantha Sederof & Tara Shackell
