Terra Sigillata Workshop

The ancient and somewhat mysterious ceramic surface treatment of terra sigillata or ‘sig’ has increasing relevance for artists working with sculptural form and for those who are committed to a low carbon, sustainable practice. This workshop demonstrates how to make ‘sig’ from terracotta clay and a white ‘sig’ from ball clay. Go home with a bottle of each.
