2011

This series of work continues to reflect on the history of chinese porcelain manufacture and the insatiable appetite for 'China' in Europe from the 1500s. Mt Gaoling was mined into depletion for the mineral Kaolin needed to produce the pure white, strong and translucent porcelain produced in Jingdezhen since 1200s.

 

This work toured in Cross Cultural Influences in Contemporary Ceramics and was

curated by Stephen Gallagher
